Give Thanks

Being thankful, grateful and appreciative are God-given expressions that come naturally when something good happens in our lives. What’s easy to forget is those same expressions are necessary CHOICES when things don’t go our way. No matter the situation, there is always much to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that should be celebrated each and every day from the time we wake up until the time we go to bed.  The national Thanksgiving holiday is a day when we come together with loved ones and friends to publically recognize this most important expression of giving: Thanks.

I believe sharing ACN is one of the most perfect expressions of gratitude we can have.  It’s giving the gift of hope in a world where so many feel hopeless.

When you have a grateful heart, you will give to give, instead of giving to get, and that’s when your business will explode!

To be more direct in relating to your ACN business, I want to urge you not to make the same mistake that I made during my first holiday season in ACN.

I thought the holiday season was a great time to take a break. I thought folks wouldn’t want to hear about a business during the holidays.  I didn’t talk to anyone about ACN and I didn’t go to meetings or have meetings. I assumed everyone else was doing the same.  Then when I went to the first meeting after the holidays, I was blown away at all the new folks that had joined our company.  I had missed out! I didn’t realize that since many people have time off this time of year, some people feel it’s the PERFECT time to get their business started!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s so important to spend this precious time with your loved ones and friends. However, I don’t suggest you sit at the turkey table saying, “So let me tell you about my business; please pass the gravy.” I do suggest you plant seeds during your conversations. Be excited and create a curiosity for your business. If you truly believe in what you have your hands on with ACN, you will come to realize there is no bad day to share this gift. You’ll see that every day is the PERFECT day.

Let your grateful heart shine through you so people SEE the light of gratitude on your face.  Be that beacon of light and hope and they will naturally be drawn to you!

And the more you give to give, the more you in turn receive.

This is the time to push through the excuses in your head.  Be grateful for this amazing business that has changed so many lives so drastically! Look for your windows of opportunity.  They will be all around you. Pack your BOM’s, set up your home meetings ahead of time so you have something to invite people to.  Use Success from Home magazine, the Opportunity DVD, your ACN Direct Online Store and all of the other tools that are available to you to help you succeed in this business. And above all else, have fun!

Take some time this holiday season to list all the things you are thankful for.  At the top of my list after God and my family is my ACN family.  You all have changed our lives completely.  We are so grateful for your love, your commitment and your loyalty.

I hope you have a very happy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving!

Much love and gratitude,

ACN & The Celebrity Apprentice: Next Steps

To say that last Sunday night, March 27, was an incredible night in ACN’s history would be an understatement! I’ve been blessed to be a part of ACN since the beginning, and I’ve been extremely excited during these 18 years, but never as excited as I am right now.

What happened as a result of this airing was absolutely astounding. This primetime opportunity has simply changed the game. Because of the show, many representatives were able to talk to people they’ve never talked with before, and without this show many of those people may have never heard of the ACN home-based business opportunity.  When Mr. Trump acknowledged our Co-Founders as “friends” of his, at that moment, ACN was oozing with credibility in everyone’s eyes.

If you go out there today and ask someone, “Did you watch The Celebrity Apprentice Sunday night?” The people who say yes will want to talk about it, and when you tell them that ACN’s your company, they will be blown away – and they will really want to talk about it.

But did you do all you could have to promote this show?  How many of us have done something in life, and afterward we wished we could have a redo?  Well, for this show, we’re actually getting that very rare, “second chance.” Tonight and tomorrow, the show will air again on CNBC and Bravo. So you can use this as an opportunity to get that redo, or you can use it as an opportunity to continue the momentum you have created with folks that just heard about ACN by watching the show last Sunday night.

Then what’s next?  FOLLOW UP!  It has been said there is a fortune in the follow-up and I believe there is.  Make sure you follow up with everyone you told about the show, make sure you continue asking folks if they watched it, make sure you never stop talking about it.

It’s time to start sharing the news. Ask everyone on your list if they watched The Celebrity Apprentice last Sunday. In my 18-year career with ACN, that question has become the easiest, most successful way for me to share this opportunity with someone new. With that question it has never been easier to talk to a family member, a friend, a co-worker or even a stranger.

In the moment history is made, most people don’t recognize it. But don’t underestimate the power this historical opportunity has given each of us to create massive momentum in our businesses.  Don’t miss a second of it. Be proud of what you have your hands on.  Be as excited as all the Co-Founders, Circle of Champions Members, SVPs and RVPs about this very unique moment in time with ACN. Shout it from the rooftops.  Remember, opportunities are never lost; they’re just passed on to someone else!

I shared this on the leadership call earlier this week, and I want to share it with you again here:

Whatever we do, we capitalize on.  Whatever we don’t do, someone else is going to capitalize on.

So get out there and build your business like never before. Now is the time.

Don’t think, just do!

As an ACN business owner of nearly 18 years, I am very proud to have the opportunity and privilege of contributing to ACN’s new blog.  I often send inspiring stories and testimonials to my team, so I felt it was fitting to do the same here.

Now that we are in the dog days of summer, sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated.  It’s too easy to put off the things we need to do, and once deferred, we rarely get back around to accomplishing what we intended.  Therefore, I always think back to the early years when my husband Geoff and I were beginning to build our ACN Business, while also building our dream home.

The first three years of our ACN careers, we didn’t know whether we were coming or going half the time. We were raising our three small children; Geoff was working full-time, while getting his Master’s degree; we were first-time general contractors, designers and decorators of our 7,500 square foot home, clearing the property of more than 100 trees and doing much of the labor ourselves. And while all of this was happening, we were determined to become ACN Regional Vice Presidents.

Too many times we felt overwhelmed. It would have been easy to throw up our hands and say, “Forget this!”  Many times, it felt so crazy; we wondered if we were crazy.

But once we broke ground on our home, there was no turning back.  To accomplish what we started, to finish our home, we had to reach RVP.  We were so busy; we didn’t have time to think about what we were doing.  We didn’t have time to analyze.  We didn’t have time to feel guilty about leaving our kids to practically raise themselves for more than a year or even time to miss each other.  And we certainly didn’t have time to waste on representatives who weren’t committed to being successful in ACN.  There was no time to moan, complain or feel sorry for ourselves about the ups and downs of business and life.

Yes, we had times when we wondered if it would all be worth it.  And during those times, we clung to ACN President and Co-Founder Greg Provenzano’s words, “I’m not telling you it will be easy, but I am telling you it will be worth it!”

Through it all, we found strength in those words and a simple phrase Geoff found, “Don’t think, just do.” That’s what kept us going through the three most life-changing years of our marriage.

Those four little words gave us resolve in stressful, hectic and overwhelming times.  And we’ve found these words to be just as powerful when times are not so tough.  Many people have too much time, and it’s easy to put something off when you have time to do it later.

In those early years, we had to prioritize every minute of every day to get the most important things accomplished.  We had to meet daily deadlines, and sometimes it felt like we needed to be in ten places at once.  There was never enough time to do all we needed to do. We had to set our goals; otherwise, important things would slip through the cracks. We didn’t have time to think; we just did.

I want to encourage you to create a to-do list every day and prioritize it, ensuring you get the most important things done. Make it a habit to follow your list. Then, don’t think, just do! Make the rest of 2010 – the best of 2010!

Love and appreciation for all you do for yourself and your team in this life-changing way of life called ACN!
