Lessons Learned on Our ACN Journey to SVP

More than 16 years ago, we started our ACN journey, and seeing that journey culminate in our SVP promotion and celebration during the Los Angeles International Training Event was truly surreal. It’s unlike anything else to see the faces of people you have touched and to hear how our story impacted theirs – there are no words to express our “attitude of gratitude.”

Before ACN, we co-owned a family home improvement business and we were living paycheck to paycheck, working seemingly endless hours that impacted the family time we were able to spend together and with our two small children. Then when cancer and serious illness struck numerous family members, we knew we had to find a better way. But when we were initially introduced to ACN, we were the most rotten of rotten apples. It wasn’t until our persistent friend got us to attend an ACN event that we saw the vision of what this company had to offer.  The momentum we gained from that event catapulted us from nothing to quick success as ETTs, TCs in 6 months and RVPs in 3 years.

Our reluctance to starting in ACN taught us two things right off the bat: Never give up on your No’s and never ever underestimate the power of ACN events!

Although our start taught us a lot, our journey to SVP brought with it so many more lessons, and those lessons are what we want to share with you today:

  1. Prioritize your spiritual, family and business life – in that order. That makes it natural to give attention where it’s needed.
  2. Never entertain the thought of quitting. Never look for others to blame. And never allow yourself to give in, out or up when you are in the “valleys” of your business. In fact, someone once told us, “Don’t doubt in the valley, what you see on the mountain.”
  3. Look within yourself to get the results you want. If you want different results in your business you have to change; you have to look in the mirror.
  4. Treat people as people, not CAB checks. Listen to their stories and inspire them to greatness.
  5. Lastly: Have endurance. It took us more than 16 years to reach SVP, and in some ways it was the best thing that could have happened. It tempered us and built our persistence and perseverance. So move forward in your business with certainty, and remember that while it’s okay to sprint, this race is a marathon.

Today as Senior Vice Presidents in ACN we’re so grateful for our journey, and now we want nothing less than to inspire others to reach their full potential in ACN!

Enjoy the quest,

Joel and Cindy Frager
